High Risk Errors
High Risk Errors are less likely to occur compared to brand image errors, but they carry high costs both to repair and defend. These errors can trigger recalls, fines, and legal issues, making them both financially damaging and resource-intensive to resolve. The risk is especially high for products that violate FDA or USDA guidelines on nutrient or health claims.
Error Types:
Missing Regulatory Requirements: Absence of mandatory information such as allergen declarations, ingredients lists, or nutrition facts panels.
Incorrect Nutrient Claims: Inaccurate claims about the nutrient content of a product (e.g., "low fat," "high in fiber") that don't meet FDA/USDA thresholds.
Incorrect Usage of Health Claims: Misleading or unsubstantiated claims about health benefits (e.g., "immune-boosting," "heart-healthy") that lack proper scientific evidence or regulatory approval.
